Shrub Rose

The shrub rose blooms repeatedly from June nearly until frost, and needs far less care than the old tea hybrids your grandmother might remember. It wants full sun, at least six hours a day, otherwise it blooms less and suffers more from fungal disease. Water it regularly the first year after planting, especially while buds are forming. For winter, we recommend mounding soil or bark around the base of the shrub so the wood at the crown does not freeze. In spring, just cut back old and damaged shoots, the rest grows on its own.
