About me and the nursery

My name is Jaroslav Vejvoda and I have been growing trees in Mukařov since 1998. I started on a small plot of land I inherited from my grandfather, and while the nursery has grown since then, I still run it myself with my family, not as a company with ten employees. Every tree that leaves here was grafted or planted as a seedling by my own hands at some point.

How I work

I graft the fruit trees myself, onto rootstock I have confirmed over the years actually holds up in our conditions. I do not graft hundreds of varieties, I would rather keep a smaller range and stand behind every one of them. I buy conifers and ornamental trees as small seedlings from trusted nurseries and grow them on here until they are strong enough to sell.

I help with planting

When you buy a tree from me, it does not end with the sale. I will tell you what spot it needs, the best time to plant it and how to water it the first year so it takes root well. For fruit trees, I will also tell you which pollinator variety it needs, since most will not bear fruit on their own without a pair. If you would like, I can come out to your garden and help you plan where everything goes.
