Norway Maple

The Norway maple is one of those trees you watch grow in a garden for years and it keeps making sense the whole time. It forms a dense, rounded crown, blooms quietly in spring, and its leaves turn yellow to orange in fall, rewarding you even at the end of the season. It grows in full sun or partial shade and is not picky about soil, it just does not like staying dry at the roots during its first year. We can plant it nearly any time of year outside of frost, since it comes in a container and the root ball stays undisturbed. After planting, just water it regularly through the first summer and stake the young trunk so wind does not loosen it.
